Founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill, Talisker is renowned for its distinctive maritime character, influenced by its coastal location. Talisker beach, on the west coast of the Isle of Skye, is formed from black basaltic sands and much of the Island is covered in Basalt rock, high in magnesium and calcium. It isn’t just the rocks that bring a harder and richer water. As the river flows over peat it also adds complexities to the spirit.

Our notes: The complex, coastal character imparts maritime notes on the nose; sea air, smoky sweetness and light citrus beneath a tickling spice. Earthy tones, reminiscent of heather and the moors. The character is rich and bold with significant depth for a young malt.
