Raise a glass with us and toast Scotland’s legendary poet, Robert Burns, at a special Burns Night celebration at The Cridford Inn in Trusham on Saturday 25th January. Hosted by Ellie Gibson from Azu Spirits, the event will start at 7:00 pm and feature a premium whisky tasting, a traditional Burns Night supper and live music from The Midsummer Gurnards, a local band known for their sea shanties and folk tunes. It’s the perfect way to honor the spirit of Burns and immerse yourself in a night of Scottish tradition.
Robert Burns, Scotland's national poet, is renowned worldwide for his songs and poems, including beloved works like Auld Lang Syne and A Red, Red Rose. His body of work spans over 550 poems and songs, often full of sentiment and humor, with themes ranging from the natural world to love and politics. Every January, people across the globe gather to celebrate Burns’ legacy with a traditional Burns Night Supper, a time for feasting, drinking, and singing.
This year, guests at The Cridford Inn will experience a curated tasting of six premium Scotch whiskies from historic distilleries across Scotland, including Bunnahabhain 12, Aberfeldy 16, Dalmore 12, Macallan 12, Lagavulin 16 and Port Charlotte 10. The tasting will provide an opportunity to explore the wide variety of flavours that make Scotch whisky internationally celebrated. The evening will also feature a traditional haggis dinner and as the night unfolds, the lively Midsummer Gurnards will provide entertainment with their sea shanties and folk songs, ensuring the evening is filled with the joy and camaraderie that Burns Night is famous for.
